OVERVIEW
Spiti is a high-altitude region of the Himalayas, located in the north-eastern part of the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. The name “Spiti” means “The middle land”, i.e. the land between Tibet and India. Spiti incorporates mainly the valley of the Spiti River, and the valleys of several rivers that feed into the Spiti River. Some of the prominent side-valleys in Spiti are the Pin valley and the Lingti valley. Spiti is bordered on the east by Tibet, on the north by Ladakh, on the west and southwest by Lahual, on the south by Kullu, and on the southeast by Kinnaur.
Spiti Valley is also known as the Cold Desert. It is because of its high altitude geological location. Highest inhabited regions in the world: Spiti Valley is set at an altitude of 4270 m (14000 ft) above sea level. This makes the valley one of the highest inhabited places in the world.
Spiti Valley attracts thousands of enthusiasts every year. Spiti Valley is home to tiny villages of not more than 200 people.

On arrival in Chandigarh Airport. Meet and greet our representative and transfer to KUFFRI / NARKANDA. About 4-5 Hrs of beautiful drive through mountains from Chandigarh via, Shimla. Upon arrival check in to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Leave your hotel after breakfast and drive straight to Sangla, enjoy vistas en route. Visit Sangla market in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay in Sangla.
Leave Sangla after breakfast to visit Chitkul. Drive through Rakhcham village straight to Chitkul the last village of India (Indo – China border) and visit Baspa Riverbank. Later drive back to Sangla for lunch. Post lunch visit Tibetan Monestery, Nag Temple and Kamru Fort. Dinner and overnight stay in Sangla.
Leave Sangla after breakfast and drive to Kalpa. Visit Reckoning Market, Kalpa, Monastery, Chandika Devi Temple and Roghi Suicide point in Kalpa. Enjoy spectacular view of Kinnar Kailash Peak from your hotel. Dinner and overnight stay in Kalpa.
Start your day early and watch the vistas en route over Hindustan Tibet Highway. Check Out Khab, Confluence of Spiti and Satluj Rivers. See the Leo Purygal Peak from Khab Bridge. Have your lunch at Nako Lake. Meet the dreaded Malling Nalla ahead of Nako. After Chango – Sumdo you will enter Spiti Valley. Visit Tabo monastery at Tabo. About 7– 8 Hrs drive, depending upon the breaks you take in between. Dinner and overnight stay in Tabo.
Start your day at 08:30 and drive towards Dhankar Village. Perched high above the confluence of the Spiti and Pin River, in a hidden bowl, is the tiny hamlet of Dhankar. Explore the 1200-years old Gompa.
Later drive towards the beautiful Pin Valley. We first visit the Kungri Monastery and then the beautiful hamlet of Mudh – the last motorable village of the Pin Valley. Declared a national park in 1987, Pin Valley has altitudes ranging from 11,000 to 20,000 feet and is home to at least 12 endangered snow leopards. In addition, other animals indigenous to the region and park are the Siberian ibex, bharal, weasel, red fox, and marten. Birds such as the pika, griffon, golden eagle, bearded vulture, Chukor and Raven paint the skies a pretty picture. Drive to Kaza in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.
Today we first drive to Langza , Langza village is situated at an altitude of 4,400 meters and belongs to the Sakyapa sect of Tibetan Buddhism. You can walk into the village and visit the ancient Lang (Temple) which is estimated to be around 1000 years old.
Later, we drive to Hikkim where we visit the world’s highest post office in the world. After that we drive to some of the highest inhabited regions of the world. The highest village in Asia, Komik, which literally translates to ‘eye of a snow cock’, is situated at a height of 4,513 meters.
Later we visit the world famous Ki Monastery. Monastery provides the ultimate photo opportunity with over 1000 years’ worth of stories to tell, the Ki Monastery situated at a height of 3,700 meters was founded by a disciple of the famous Atisha, in the 11th century CE.
After that we will drip up the valley to the picturesque village of Kibber. Located at a height of 4,205 meters and 18 km from Kaza, this formerly highest, permanently inhabited village in this region.
After that we drive back to Kaza and visit Sakya Tangyud Monastery in Kaza. Dinner and overnight stay in Kaza.
Drive to Chandratal (4300 meters) through Chicham bridge(Highest bridge in Asia), Losar Village and Kunzum Pass 4600 meters. Have your lunch in Losar Village. Upon arrival at Chandratal camp site, check in. Later visit Chandratal Lake. Return back to your camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Head to Manali early morning via Atal Tunnel. Drive through Battal, Chatrru, Gramphu, the most adventurous drive of this trip. Visit newly built Atal Tunnel, and Solang valley and the Mall road Manali.
End of beautiful SPITI VALLEY TRIP. Drive back to CHANDIGARH. Our vehicle will drop you at the railway station.
